Clinical 2017: Review
A Horror Movie on Netflix
It's a hazy lazy Saturday and I'm feeling like watching a psychological thriller. No it's not even October yet. Maybe I'm starting a Halloween in July movement. Or perhaps I'm just feeling frisky. Regardless I'm doing it. I am going to watch a horror movie in July. Not just any horror but my first horror Netflix movie.
We Love a Psychiatrist With a Past
Clinical is a Netflix original movie and came out in January 2017. It stars Vinessa Shaw who plays the haunted psychiatrist. One of the main reasons I put it on is because I like me some Vinessa Shaw. She's in 'Hocus Pocus'-- nuff said. And I just finished 'Gypsy,' which also has to do with a shrink. I can't seem to get enough of the shrink juju. But without ruining it for you this is a well made flick. It gets an A+ on the gore factor. Meaning they didn't rely too heavily on it. But when they did use it, they used it in a realistic way.
Above and Beyond When it Comes to Top Notch Therapy-- SPOILER ALERT
Okay now we're getting to the raw stuff. Shaw plays Dr. Jane Mathis. She's all about helping and listening to her clients. Her specialty is helping her clients learn to live with their PTSD. One of her patients resents her for listening too much and then haunts her with her daddy issues. If you go into this not knowing anything you'll like it more. Seriously Netflix surprises you with their excellent cinematography and set designs. You can't go wrong with it. And the learning lesson is for Dr. Jane to have some fucking boundaries when treating her clients. The end I hope you like it.
