Terrifer: Review
One Sick Clown
'Terrifer' came out in 2016 and is directed and written by Damien Leone. There was no information where it was filmed and stars a bunch of unknown actor's and actress's. Actually the acting and the plot was bad--average (after all it's a independent movie). And the character is based off a previous anthology All Hallow's Eve. The premise is about a speechless clown named Art, which is the best part. Because the makeup's really good. This film relies heavily on gore to pick up the pace and plot development. One reviewer compared it to some of Rob Zombie's gore and mayhem flicks. Which is a good comparison.
Two Chicks and Art
Basically without ruining the plot this is a slasher film with the clown as the antagonistic character. Art has no background and is mute. Think circus gone wrong and basically you have it. Its filmed in a basement of sorts where there's brick, metal and sharp objects everywhere. He likes industrial, dark, cold settings, and this is where he does his killings. Art is a man we know--because there's a scene where he's naked wearing woman's hair and his junk's hanging around. Funny enough seeing him walk around nude was probably my favorite part. Maybe because clown penis does it for me. Ew!
Serial Killers Like it Dark
Make no mistake about it Art is a mute serial killer. He kills for pure enjoyment, he thinks being sadistic is funny and laughs about it. He grins with his nasty black mouth and sharp edged teeth (creepy). Creepiness aside this received descent reviews considering the plot wasn't good. It did have other elements making it watchable. Maybe because this is so gross ends up keeping you somewhat intrigued. Or maybe because you like pervert horror cinema gone bad. Whatever you are-- you can watch it on Netflix.
