Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Review

Scream in September

Last weekend we were in the mood for a scary movie and in the back of my mind, I would like to review horror movies. Insert 'Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Why this one you ask? Because of 'Patricia Arquette.' I love the scream queen 'Heather Langenkamp,' she's in this one, but she's not in the second Elm Street,. Back to Arquette, her brothers have both been in other horror film franchises: 'Bride of Chucky and Scream' Alexis and David Arquette. Patricia did horror first and is some kind of dream warrior.

1987 American Slasher Film

The 80s were such a unique time for horror movies because they relied more on makeup and sound designs. The movie scores for 80s horror movies are a treasure, especially for synth and 2-dimensional set designs. The second installment of this franchise had different actors but took place on Elm Street which is why 'Freddy Krueger 'is haunting them-- he's referred to as a serial killer on wiki. I'm sure Freddy is a dream demon. He is so spooky, played by Robert Englund. It's important to talk about Elm Street 2 in 1985 so you can get 3 because it takes place right after.

Dream Warriors Background

The theatrical release was February 27, 1987. Its budget was around $4 million and grossed $44 million. They definitely profited from a scary fantasy about a creepy man that likes to torment teenagers on Elm Street. If you live on this street than your goose is cooked. Freddy wants to get you once you doze off. Don't doze off, take caffeine pills, drink a light roast pot of coffee in the middle of the night, look at blue lights, whatever you need to do to stay awake.

New Line Cinema

New Line Cinema produced this movie and made a fortune. The story is based off Wes Craven characters, the director is Chuck Russel. Who also directed The Blob 1988 and The Mask 1994. And a special note the score. "Angelo Badalamenti' composed it and is known for other scores like Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet. I am listening to the score of Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and it is 80s synth-tastic.
