Cursed 2005: Review

Werewolves Are My Jam

Since it's the end of August I am granting myself time to reflect on a horror-comedy: 'Cursed.' It's a 'Wes Craven' production that came out in 2005.  That is a year after I graduated high school, how could I've not heard about this spooky werewolf film? I have to touch on it because it came out of thin air on HBO, yesterday evening. Some of my all time favs are in it too: Christina Ricci, Joshua Jackson and Judy Greeer.

"I Guess There's No Such Thing as Safe Sex With a Werewolf"

It seems when it comes to horror genre that vampires and poltergeists get all the limelight. I could eat Christina Ricci on a silver spoon. And speaking of silver, werewolves hate the stuff. And Ricci is no doubt a werewolf. Her boyfriend (Joshua Jackson) bit her because he wanted her to be his eternal lover dog. But she was not down for the werewolf pound. That's the plot in a nutshell, and I really can't say anything else or I'll spoil it.

Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson

Wes and Kevin make a spook-tastic team. They did Scream together and Cursed. Williamson is the creator of Dawson's Creek, which makes sense why Joshua Jackson is in this, and Scream. He adds a feminine touch to Wes Craven's horror plots. And that's why I liked this film because it's not scary, it's all eye candy and different set designs.
